I Have a Confession to Make

Here’s my confession:

I started the year on fire…

And then I drifted.

Like a lot of us, January felt like a clean page. I was working out in the mornings, journaling, writing poetry, and eating clean. I felt focused…steady….proud of myself.

Then life happened. I slept through workouts. I chose convenience. I had pizza and wine a few too many nights…

Nothing dramatic. Just enough to notice that I wasn’t showing up for myself in the same way.

I’m not telling you this as a declaration of defeat, but to share that I am human…

 And the truth is: I’ve still been moving forward…just in a different way than I expected.

  • I led 2 community wellness workshops
  • I got outside for yardwork….fresh air, sunshine, and hands-in-the-dirt kind of therapy
  • I cleaned out the garage (which is absolutely movement, no matter what my workout app says)
  • I am refreshing old furniture…..lifting, sanding, carrying, rearranging, creating

It was a good reminder that exercise doesn’t always look like a perfect routine or a trip to the gym. Sometimes it’s stretching and reaching. Climbing. Carrying. Walking. Squatting to pull weeds. Hauling a box from one corner of the garage to the other. Real life asks our bodies to move all day long

And that counts!

So I’m choosing to be gentle with myself and focus on what really matters.

I’m focusing on small wins:

A glass of water

 A walk

 A few minutes on the mat

 One page in the journal

Touching base with a friend

One meal that feels like care.

And this is the part I want to remember: every day is an opportunity. Every hour. Every minute.

 You don’t have to wait for a new week or a perfect plan.
